The color green has always been connected with peace and nature. It is not really the first choice people go for when thinking about their home decor. But, it is, in effective, a fantastic color to display around your home and there are literally millions of tonal ranges you can play with to set the desired mood – whether a great electric lime to spark up four walls or a lovely soft apple green to give a sense of calm and security.

Green wallpaper is very easy on the eye. One of its greatest qualities not found in any other color is that our eyes rest on all the different shades really easily. That makes it a fantastic choice for decorating our walls. Also, the color scheme for green is vast and very rich and you just can’t go wrong with it… or can you?

Let’s have a look at a few ideas you should consider:

- Add shades of depth around the room if you are going for shy green wallpaper (i.e. pale green). Bright greens will wash away the blandness.

- You can easily add dark fixtures, elements and accessories in a room for a perfect sense of balance. Rich dark chocolate mixes really well with green wallpaper. - Create harmony by using the color wheel when combining your green wallpaper with other elements in the room. For example, dark green wallpaper would combine really well with grey, fuchsia, apple green and lilac.

Use the color wheel for your complimentary colors

- Green will give you a sense of nature as well as freedom. Place the green wallpaper in rooms with uPVC french doors.

- Conservatories should always be spacious rooms; if your conservatory is small and you are thinking of remodelling it, add green to the decor and have uPVC windows installed to enhance the sense of space and freedom in the room.

- Spark up your walls with a modern use of green. Have a look at the opposite end of your chosen green in the color wheel (picture above). Your rooms will spontaneously come to life.

- Mix your green wallpaper with other wallpaper colors. Apply the green wallpaper in three walls and add a striking color to the fourth (using the color wheel). This also works well with patterns and flowery wallpapers.

- If you want to “go monochromatic” on your bedroom, use three different shades of the same tone. Add rich textures like combining linen bedroom curtains or silk duvet covers.

- Last but not least. Use the finishing touches with care and you will be delighted. Bouquets of flowers and plants will compliment nicely any green wallpaper you decor your room with.
